Starting three new commissions this week! Here is the underpainting for a Birth of Venus tribute, featuring my favorite model, Josie. Probably another day to advance the underpainting, then the real fun begins. There are embroidered flowers on her jacket ... thinking about surrounding her figure with same ... for now I'm seeing them on the lower part of the canvass, around her legs. We'll see...
Thanks to the Williams family for letting me hide out in their lake cabin and work on these drawings.... about twenty more to do ... Yikes. This one is Phini. It's the last drawing in the book ... my nickname for Phoenix was Phoenie ... so calling this last one Phini. Happy New Year.

Here's a sketch for the creepy Auntie in "Auntie Says Phoenix Needs to Improve". She's very annoying to me ... which is the point, I guess. We were originally using Grandma .... but grandmas aren't logically creepy. But AUNTIES .... everybody has a creepy auntie!
